HOPE Succession Project Updates

Walking Forward Together

For many years, Pastor Paul has prayerfully considered what a healthy transition into retirement would look like. He’s taken intentional steps to build a strong leadership team, release more responsibility, and prepare HOPE Church for what’s next.

In January 2025, we began a formal succession process for the Lead Pastor role. This is a significant season in the life of our church — and we want to keep you informed every step of the way.

On this page, you’ll find short video updates from our leadership team about where we are in the process, what’s happening behind the scenes, and how you can be praying and participating.

We’re committed to transparency, unity, and listening to God together as a church family. Check back regularly for the latest updates.

Lead Pastor Position Now Open (Internal Candidates Only)

We’re excited to announce that the Lead Pastor position at HOPE Church is now officially open—to internal candidates.

"Internal" includes those who are currently on staff at HOPE, as well as individuals who have an established partnership with our church.

To help you understand the role and what we’re seeking in this next season, we’ve created an Executive Summary of the Lead Pastor Profile, available below.

If you're interested in learning more or would like to apply, please email us at succession@gfhope.org to request the full profile and begin the application process.

We continue to ask for your prayers as we seek God’s direction in this important step for our church family.
